In getting ready to launch OptEmail.Net, I've had to educate myself on exactly what it takes to achieve maximum deliverability with email. It's definitely a combination of art and science! Stuff doesn't just automagically happen, people!
I'm also applying what I've learned to ListingWare, since we have such a massive amount of email to deliver on a daily basis. You may see a few changes, such as the FROM EMAIL on emails from your ListingWare service saying something like 'emailupdates@homescanner.net'. The FROM NAME will still say your name, and the REPLY EMAIL will still be yours. It's got to do with things like SPF, SenderID, Black Hole Lists, Return Path,...even MY head was spinning learning this.
Bottom line is that more email should be able to get directly to its destination. How's that for automagic!

Bob, if you don't use the leads true "from" email address it will prevent A lot of agents using their own auto-reponder, and also all the incoming leads cannot now be responed to or tracked if they are using outlook or outlook express(like over 75% of agents do, cause all the emails now come from the same address.
Actually, I got an email from 'anonymous' also, I think. The email could still be responded to, because we are filling in the field REPLY TO with their true email address.
However, 'anonymous' did point out that without the true FROM in the email, an autoresponse from within Outlook would fail. So, there was an alternative method that uses an extra parameter called SENDER.
So, the FROM and TO are back to being the user or yourself, whichever is appropriate. We are now the RETURN PATH and the SENDER. With these in place, we should have the best deliverability rate possible.
